While serving as ambassador to France, he reviewed Madison's draft of the Constitution, and suggested that Madison include a Bill of Rights.   The Constitution: The most profound and dynamic document of its kind. It's the backgound of our governmental infrastructure. The work of many minds, the Constitution stands as a model of cooperative statesmanship and the art of compromise.    The Supreme Court Building.   James Madison: One of the hardest working and most respected men of his day. "I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility to
every form of tyrrany over the mind of Man" -- Thomas Jefferson
"A popular Government, without popular information, or the means of acquiring it,
is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever
govern ignorance: And a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm
themselves with the power which knowledge gives." - James Madison

"America isn't easy. America is advanced citizenship. You've got to want it bad, because
it's going to put up a fight!. You want free speech? Let's see you acknowledge a man whose
words make your blood boil who is standing center stage advocating at the top of his lungs
that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours... The symbol of your
country cannot just be a flag. The symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right
to burn that flag in protest. Now show me that, defend that, celebrate that in your classrooms.
Then, you can stand up and sing about the land of the free."
... President Andrew Shepherd from the Movie "American President".

"Fire and brimstone, however, is no substitute for the solid rock of constitutional law that has served this nation well for more than 200 years!"
